Snowy Saturday Morning

This is what I woke up to this morning! I am not all happy about this! I'm not ready for winter!

How cute are these two guys? Emmett decided the best way to get his blankets and pillow to the car would be to bundle up in them because it was so dang cold out! I love having Emm here every weekend & think he & Josh are just the best kids in the whole world!

Josh has his second date tonight. He was asked to girl ask guy dance at the school. Apparently, this dance has a western theme & if you know Josh at all, you know that he really doesn't do cowboy! So called a friend who's family is really cowboy & the Carter's got him set up! He makes a pretty cute cowboy, I think!

I disapprove. Strongly....

...not that i think it makes a difference. I woke up this morning & looked out my window to find that during the night, my lawn had gone from green to white! It was one thing when the snow was content to stay in the mountains. I could look at that & think that the mountains sure do look pretty covered in snow. But having it on my lawn? That's a whole different story! It's way too early in the year for this!

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I hope you are having a fantastic day and Christmas season with your families. This is a special, magical time of year and my prayer is that in the hustle and bustle of everything going on, that we are all able to take the time to cherish the true meaning of the season and the reason that we celebrate this time of year.

We here in Idaho are experiencing a winter wonderland! Personally, I am sick of it! It sure is beautiful though. After being outside in it, however, I am jealous of my nephew James, who is spending this Christmas in beautiful Puerto Rico, where he tells me it is 80 degrees! These are some photos I took this morning...

Really, this speaks for itself...

Yes, it is early October.
Yes, Distric soccer tournaments started for Josh today.
Yes, that is snow.
Let me say it again, in case you don't believe me.
Yes, that is snow. In fact, during the game,

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I didn't really pay attention to the weather outside until I got a phone call this morning. It was our neighbor, letting us know that church had been cancelled because of the snow. So I decided to brave the elements & see what was up out there. This is for sure the most snow we've gotten this year. So...I took photos!

This is out our front door. The house that you can barely see is about 1/4 mile down the road. Usually, we can see the house that's another mile across the fields with no problems.

This photo is out our back door, looking through our back yard.

This is looking out the back door in the other direction.

I made the dogs go outside with me. Corrie is in the rear, Hannah in front. They were less than enthused about being out in the snow.

Corrie, now standing in the front, is Hannah's grandmother. Corrie is not always sure that Hannah needs to be around, but tolerates her for the most part.

Of course, everyone was much happier once we came back in the house. Corrie will now spend the rest of her day on the bed, which is where she believes she belongs at all times.

(Like the fun pillowcases? My mom made those for all of us for Valentines day one year. Mine have cute dancing frogs on a black background with a bright pink border.)
